What It Tells You
A custom trigger is a threshold you set yourself on a field. It can be soil moisture below a value, soil temperature above one, a forecast frost, wind or rain over a limit, or a sensor that has stopped reporting. The built-in windows answer the common questions. A trigger answers yours, such as the moisture at which a clay field needs a look, or the wind above which you want warning before the contractor arrives. When it fires you get an alert that names the reading that crossed the line. How It Works
Set the field, the reading or forecast value, the comparison and the threshold. A trigger that fires raises an alert. If you have a webhook, it also sends atrigger.fired event. A silent sensor is the same device.offline state the app shows as stale.
A trigger set on a phone, the readings it can watch, and the webhook it can call.
