# Zone-rate Planning
> Dose by zone, with the product saving shown.
## What It Tells You
A **zone-rate plan** gives each zone in a field its own rate. The thin headland and the strong middle each get what they need. The plan shows the product saved against a flat rate across the field, in units and in cost.
## How It Works
Draw the zones on the field map and set a rate per zone. The plan totals the product and the saving against the flat rate. Each zone's application is recorded in the applications log against that zone.
